In my boat I have 2 CAT3208 engines from the 1990's. They each can generate 375 horse power which is a lot of power to control.
This is my log of the engine use and servicing:

Ran engines at 1800 rpm and was doing 10 knots. At some point I smell overheating and check the engine room. The hose bend after the seawater intake burst and engine room is filled with water 30 min from catastrophic levels.
I went over all the hose bends and the all are old and look bloated.
I took apart the heat exchanger and it turns out they are clogged up and full of debris.
Subsequent mechanical cleaning and chemical cleaning.
New gaskets needed. Not easy to get and make them myself from outline and laser cutting.
All rubber hoses renewed with silicone hose.
